Wise, Louise Waterman

Wise, Louise Waterman
(d. 1947)
   American communal worker, artist and translator, wife of Stephen S. Wise. She established the Free Synagogue's Child Adoption Committee in 1914, and in 1933 became president of the Women's Division of the American Jewish Congress. She translated various works, and painted works on the theme of persecuted Jewry.
